Greenhouse gas emissions have caused global warming. They continue to melt due to reckless human activities (Sixth Assessment Report, 2023). Life without greenhouse gas emissions is not impossible. If emissions continue to rise, the threat will become insurmountable for our current response capabilities. It is worth focusing on reducing greenhouse gas emissions wherever possible.

Human activities, mainly through greenhouse gas emissions, have clearly caused global warming. From 2011 to 2020, the average global temperature became 1.1°C higher than it was between 1850 and 1900 (Sixth Assessment Report, 2023). Greenhouse gases continue to increase because of too much energy use, changes in land use, and how people produce and consume goods. These actions have made the environmental situation worse and show the need for countries to work together to fight climate change.

The main source of greenhouse gas emissions remains electricity generation, accounting for about 36% of total energy emissions. Hydropower is a key step in reducing emissions, but to overcome the problem in the coming decades, wind and solar power must also be expanded (International Energy Agency, 2021).

The key to solving the problem is to stop the production of greenhouse gases from transportation, agriculture, and industrial processes. Existing plans are designed to limit warming by around the early 2050s, at best, and also require significant changes in the entire energy sector (International Energy Agency, 2021).

In conclusion, global warming is one of the biggest problems of our time. To protect the planet and future generations, we must act now. Every country, organization, and person should work together to reduce emissions, use clean energy, and take care of the environment. The choices we make today will decide the future of our planet. Our future depends on the choices we make today.
