Technological progress has been a determining factor in the development of human civilization throughout its history. Every new discovery or invention that made people's lives easier and expanded their capabilities was a revolutionary step forward. The first simple mechanisms and tools gave rise to more sophisticated technologies that eventually radically changed the face of the Earth. In this report, I will try to trace in detail the main stages of human technological progress and outline the likely direction of further technological development.
